Good News For Farmers Of This State Government Giving Free Electricity to Farmers For 5 Years


Good news has come for the farmer brothers of Maharashtra. 44 lakh farmers of the state are being given free electricity for the next five years from April. While electricity will be supplied during the day through the Chief Minister Solar Krishi Vahini Yojana and Solar Power Pump Scheme. Along with this, the electricity bill of domestic electricity consumers is also being reduced to zero through the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme of the Central Government. State Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has said that the state government is committed to providing major financial relief to farmers and domestic electricity consumers by effectively implementing these schemes.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Inaugurated the state’s first ‘Solar Village’ Manyachiwadi. Chief Minister Shinde said that Manyachiwadi village in Satara district has earned the distinction of being the state’s first solar village. Solar energy is a boon mainly for domestic consumers and farmers. The electricity bill of domestic consumers is zero through the rooftop solar power project through the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. Also, the state government has announced a solar farm pump scheme for those and open category farmers will get agricultural pumps and solar panels up to seven and a half horsepower by paying 10 percent and Scheduled Caste and Tribe farmers will get 5.

There will be no need to go to the fields at night

At the same time, the state’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that free electricity is being provided to domestic customers through the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. In the next one and a half years, 12 thousand megawatts of electricity will be generated from solar energy in the state. This electricity will be given to the farmers during the day. Due to which farmers will not need to go to the fields at night for irrigation. The state has made a big lead in solar energy. The electricity bill in Manyachivadi village used to be Rs 5 lakh 25 thousand. Due to Solar Village, it has become zero. Now a campaign is going on to take 100 villages of the state to 100 percent solar energy and villages have been selected for this.
