Google has announced on its Google Workspace Update blog that it has rolled out a feature called ‘Search Chips’, which it announced last month for Google Drive. Google had told about this feature earlier also. At that time, Google had said that it will rollout this feature for users in the coming time. Now after about a month, the company has started rolling out this feature to everyone.

The Search Chips feature will allow users to filter the files they want to find in the loaded Google Drive. Users can now search for files by various criteria such as file type, owner and last updated date. The function of this feature is to make file searching on the platform faster and easier for the users.

How to use search chips in Google Drive?

Google says that search chips will appear below the search bar in Drive and they will search files, folders and subfolders. You can also remove the search chip. For this, go to the right side of Google Drive and then click on the ‘X’ icon. Not only this, if you want to remove all the search chips at once, then click on the ‘X’ button at the end of the chips.
