Google: Google has finally introduced the upgraded Find My Device network. Google had announced this last year only in May 2023, but now finally Google has made this special feature available for Android users.

This network harnesses the power of more than a billion Android devices around the world to help users find or locate lost items. This Find My Device network of Google works in the same way as Apple’s Find My network.
It serves as a crowdsourced network of billions of Android devices with offline tracking support. This means that even if your lost Android smartphone or tablet is offline, you can still track its location and ring it.
The phone will be available even if the battery runs out
Google has given an exclusive feature to the users of its Pixel smartphones i.e. Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. They can use Find My Device even when the device is turned off or the battery is drained. Google has said that this is possible due to a special Pixel hardware, although Google has not given details about how the Pixel device can be found even when the battery is exhausted.
If users want to use the upgraded version of Google’s Fide My Device network, then they will need to have a smartphone with at least Android 9 Pie OS. Google said that the new Find My Device provides end-to-end encryption of network location data and location reporting of the entire device.
Overall, to understand this new Find My Device network of Google in simple language, users can now track the lost phone or tablet after it is offline or switched off and can also ring it. At the same time, Pixel smartphone users can track the phone even after the battery drains. Let us tell you that till now Google’s Find Device feature only tells the possible location of the lost device, and for that it is necessary for the lost phone to be online.
However, now Google has made its Find My Device network much better than before. However, Google has currently introduced its upgraded version only for Android users in America and Canada. Now it remains to be seen when Google launches this feature in India and other countries of the world.
