What did Sam Pitroda say?
Sam Pitroda had advocated inheritance tax on Wednesday (24 April). Describing it as an interesting law, he had said that 55 percent inheritance tax is levied in America. He said that this is not the case in India.
Uproar over Pitroda’s statement
The Prime Minister and other BJP leaders surrounded Sam Pitroda regarding his statement. The Prime Minister had raised questions on the intentions of the Congress and said that such statements reveal their intentions. He said that this is the mantra of Congress that loot during life and loot even after life. However, Congress distanced itself from Pitroda’s statement.
