Google, one of the world’s largest tech companies, is constantly facing challenges amidst the controversy over AI. Google has recently rebranded its AI model Bard as Gemini to compete with ChatGPIT, but it is constantly in controversies. Violation of many laws in response to PM Modi
When Gemini AI was asked about PM Modi, an objectionable answer was given. A user posted a screenshot of the conversation on social media. After that the post went viral, which also caught the attention of Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajiv Chandrashekhar. While sharing the related post, he said that many laws have been violated in the objectionable response of Google AI in the said case.

While sharing the post, the minister wrote in the caption – This is a direct violation of Rule 3(1)(b) of Intermediary Rules of the IT Act and many provisions of the Criminal Code have also been violated. A report in Indian Express has claimed that the IT Ministry is going to send a notice to Google regarding the controversial answer on PM Modi. The ministry is still in the process of sending the notice.
New case of Google’s AI
After the said post went viral, users are accusing Google’s AI of being biased. Actually, Gemini AI was asked the same question regarding PM Modi, former US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, but the AI answered in different ways. In the case of Trump and Ukraine, Gemini avoided giving a direct answer and adopted a diplomatic stance and suggested doing a Google search, whereas in the case of PM Modi, Gemini’s answer was direct. Based on this, users say that Google’s AI is adopting a different attitude for America and its allied countries and different for other countries.
There was controversy over photographs also
This is not the first case when Google AI has faced controversies. Following a similar controversy, Google has disabled picture generation on Gemini Eye. While sharing many responses of Gemini AI on social media, users were alleging that it is biased towards white people.
