A 37-year-old youth of Chitouna Tola Parasauni village of Vijayipur police station area of ​​the district died after drowning in the Chakni Ghat Khanua river. There is mourning in the village since the incident.

It is said that on Wednesday evening Sunil Kumar went with some people to take bath in Chakni Ghat Khanua river near the village when he got stuck in the iron rod protruding from under the half-constructed Chakni Ghat railway bridge of Phulwaria Bhatni railway section and drowned. When the youths who had gone with him to take bath did not see Sunil bathing for some time, they started looking for him in the river. After some time, other youths pulled Sunil out from the iron rod protruding from the pillar under the bridge. He was brought to the village where the rural doctors declared him dead.

Vijayipur, who reached the spot after receiving the information, took the body into custody and sent it to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital for post-mortem late at night.

The deceased Sunil Kumar was the only earning member of the family. After his death, the family is in deep sorrow. He used to support his parents and the family by working as a labourer. He left behind his old mother, wife and three daughters, and now they are facing problems in providing for themselves. His wife’s name is Rita Devi and the elder daughter is 14 years old, the middle one is 11 years old and the younger daughter is 7 years old. Villager Munna Pandey said that they are a very poor family. He used to earn his living by working as a labourer. His old mother, wife and daughters have become helpless.
