The Bihar School Examination Board has not yet allotted schools for admission in 246 inter colleges in Gopalganj district of Bihar. Due to this, not even a single child has been enrolled in class 11. However, the education department has instructed the students to study in intermediate in the old schools so that their studies are not disrupted.

According to the information, the result of the matriculation examination was published by the Bihar School Examination Board on March 31. At the same time, the new session has started from April 1. In such a situation, even after two months of the matriculation results, the school allocation has not been done by the Bihar School Examination Board. Online applications were taken till April 20, 2024 through the OFSS portal for enrollment in the academic session 2024-26 in Inter.

Then the application date was extended till 26th April. After the results of the matriculation examination conducted by the CBSE and ICSE boards were declared in the month of May, the portal was opened by the Bihar School Examination Board to enable students passing the said boards to get enrolled in the intermediate conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board. Then applications were accepted till 20th May. Once again it was extended till 24th May. The portal was again opened after the results of the secondary annual and compartmental-cum-special examination by the Bihar Board were declared. Again applications were accepted till 31st May.

Then it was said by the Bihar School Examination Board that students who have passed the compartmental exam along with those who have passed the exams conducted earlier by CBSE, ICSE and Bihar Board can apply online through CAF. The last date for applying has also expired six days ago. But, till now the schools have not been allotted by the board.

Another letter was issued by the education department. It was said that the students will be enrolled in class 11 in the same school from where they have passed the class 10th examination. Whereas in special circumstances, the student will be enrolled during spot admission on the basis of the school transfer certificate countersigned by the District Education Officer. The District Education Officer has been instructed that while countersigning the transfer certificate, it should be kept in mind that the distance of the school from the student’s home should be less.

In view of the delay in school allotment, the Director of Secondary Education had directed to start classes for class 11th. The department had said that teaching for students of class 10th and 12th had started from April 1, while enrollment in class 9 is ongoing. At the same time, action is underway on the OFSS portal for enrollment in class 11th. According to the departmental calendar, classes for class 11th should have been started from May 16. Until the list for enrollment is issued on the OFSS portal, students who have passed class 10th will study in the same school. Despite this, the students did not reach the school.
