Cyber police station of Nawada district has taken major action against cyber criminals. Police has arrested criminals involved in cyber fraud in district, state and interstate. Ten members of the cyber gang have been arrested with mobile and customer data sheet. In this action, many people from district, state and interstate have been arrested. Many objectionable items have been recovered from the criminals.
District SP Kartikeya Sharma said that for the past few days, the Economic Crime Unit of the Cyber Police Station in the district has been informed about various cyber criminals. It was said that cyber crimes are being committed by cyber criminals at various places in Nawada district. After this information, on the instructions of the District SP, a team was formed under the leadership of Cyber DSP cum SHO Priya Jyoti and raids were conducted at the said places. In this raid, many people from the district, state and interstate were arrested. In total, 10 members of the cyber gang were arrested from various places in the district with mobile and customer data sheets and brought to the police station and interrogated.
This is how they used to do cyber fraud
The accused told that people were first made to buy SIM cards. Then a bank account was opened using the same mobile number. Then their SIM card, bank account and ATM were taken and sold to cyber criminals for a certain amount. Using the same SIM and account number, customers who ordered goods from Flipkart were called and cheated of money by luring them with a discount on making online payment for their parcel. The arrested accused include Deepak Kumar, son of late Ramashish Singh of Pattalbigha village of Narhat police station area of the district, Raju Ranjan and Nishant Kumar, sons of Shailendra Singh of Pakaria village of Mufassil police station area of the district, Ankush Raj alias Aditya Raj, son of Ramsagar Singh of Kumbhi village of Warsaliganj police station area of the district, Ravi Ranjan Kumar alias Ankit Kumar, son of Dhananjay Kumar of Nepura village of Kashichak police station area of the district, Rajendra Rana, son of late Rameshwar Rana of village Sani Didebua of Koderma district of Jharkhand, Ashok Kumar, son of Vijay Prasad of Gilani village of Sare police station area of Nalanda district, Rajendra Rana, son of late Rameshwar Rana of village Sani Didebua of Koderma district of Jharkhand, Ashok Kumar, son of Vijay Prasad of Gilani village of Sare police station area of Nalanda district, Virendra Kumar Verma, son of Bihari Mahto of Kadodia village of Markacho police station area of Koderma district of Jharkhand state, Dhirendra Kumar, son of Omprakash Pandit of Sakuchisarai of Giriak police station area of Nalanda district and Sanu Kumar, son of Pankaj Singh of Nepura village of Kashichak police station area of Nawada district is included.
33 mobile phones, three laptops, 50 ATM cards, 40 bank passbooks, 25 bank cheque books, 80 SIM cards, 35 pages of customer data, Rs 95,000 in cash and a four-wheeler have been recovered from all the people. The police of Cyber police station have seized all the items and sent all the accused to judicial custody.
