The villagers stopped the casting work for the drain construction being done on NH near Paharpur Dayal village of Kuchaykot block of Gopalganj district. During this, the villagers protested against the departmental officer. The villagers said that the road that used to lead from NH 27 to Paharpur Dayal village has been changed and now it has been shifted six to seven feet to the other direction. Because of this, this road will pass right next to the electric transformer installed from the east. If this happens, then a major accident can happen here due to the electric transformer at any time. The villagers were demanding to leave space on the drain at the old location for the road.
It is worth mentioning that an overbridge is being constructed on NH 27 from Bhopatapur village to Balthari. For this, a concrete drain is also being constructed on the side of the road. In this connection, after tying the iron rods on the drain in front of Paharpur Dayal village, casting work was to be done on Saturday. As soon as the villagers came to know that the casting of the drain is being done in this manner, the road going to the village will now go six to seven feet to the other side where the transformer is installed. Due to this, the villagers will have to face trouble. Immediately the angry villagers stopped the casting work of the drain and started demanding to call the senior officer. Due to the protest of the villagers, the casting work of the drain has been stopped at that place.
The villagers say that the casting of the drain will be done only after the senior officer reaches the spot. Abhishek Kumar, Amit Singh, Ranjan Kumar, Nagendra Singh, Anoop Kumar, Anil Kumar, Pradeep Kumar and Rajan Kumar along with other villagers were among those who demonstrated.
