A 35-year-old woman, resident of Jungle Chhatradhari of Pipraich police station area of Gorakhpur, has been in a love affair with a young man living in the neighborhood for the last seven years. The woman also has three children. When her husband came to know about this, he protested against it. Despite her husband’s explanation, the woman did not agree and started threatening suicide. Seeing the water rising above his head, the husband lodged a complaint with the police. After this the police brought the woman to the police station and started trying to convince her. Meanwhile, the woman suddenly came out and climbed the high tension electric pole on the road and stood there holding the wire. Seeing this action of the woman, the police and the people nearby were shocked. It was fortunate that there was a power cut at that time. Because of this no major accident occurred.
Meanwhile the woman started threatening to die. Meanwhile, electricians also reached the spot. With the help of police and villagers, the woman was brought down from the pole. She and her husband were sent to the police station along with the female constable. The woman’s husband told the Gulriha police that his wife was having an affair with a young man from the neighbourhood. Both of them also have to visit each other’s houses. The lover also wants to keep the woman with him, but because of the children the husband does not want to leave the woman. In the police station, the woman started insisting on staying with her lover. She also threatened to commit suicide if her husband did not agree. After this, she climbed the electric pole on the road near District ITI College on Kabadi Road and held the HT line with her hand. It was fortunate that at that time the power was being cut due to strong winds.
It is being told that a month ago also the woman had tried to commit suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of BRD Medical College. But he was saved. Even before this, she had tried to commit suicide by lying on the railway track and consuming poison. In the complaint given to the police by the woman’s husband, it has been clearly written that if his wife attempts suicide, he will not be responsible for it. At present this action of the woman is being discussed in the entire city. In this matter, Electricity Corporation’s Junior Engineer Amit Kumar Yadav has filed a complaint with the police. It has been told in the complaint that if such an incident happens in future, the electricity department will not be responsible.
