Mafia Vinod Upadhyay was encountered by the UP STF team on Thursday night. In the morning he was taken to the hospital in an injured condition, where the team declared him dead. Vinod Upadhyay had a reward of one lakh rupees. A total of 35 cases were registered in different districts. This encounter took place in Sultanpur with the team of STF DSP Deepak Singh, a native of Gorakhpur. It is being told that while running away, he also had a pistol and a stengun, with which he was planning to attack and run away. During this time he got injured by STF bullet.
It is being told that an encounter started between STF and mafia in Sultanpur on Thursday night, in which the mafia was killed in retaliatory action by the police. The police was looking for him in several cases including land grabbing, murder and attempt to murder.
Actually, during his stay in Gorakhpur jail in 2004, Nepali criminal Jeet Narayan Mishra had slapped Vinod. After which, on August 7, 2005, Vinod took revenge of the slap by killing Jeet Narayan in Sant Kabir Nagar. Jeet Narayan and his brother-in-law Gorelal were also killed in this incident.
