Government give thousands of rupees for cultivating other crops instead of paddy


Haryana government has announced an important and beneficial scheme for farmers. The state government has taken an important step to promote crop diversification. The Chief Minister said that if farmers sow other crops instead of paddy or keep their fields vacant, they will be given an amount of Rs 10,000 per acre. This step will encourage farmers to save water and help in dealing with the irrigation water crisis.

Governor Bandaru Dattatreya announced this scheme while addressing the first session of the 15th Assembly on Wednesday. He said that under this scheme, farmers will be encouraged to promote crops that require less water, so that maximum use of water can be made. The Governor also said that schemes like improving the infrastructure of canals, micro irrigation and renovation of 19716 ponds will also continue.

Along with this, Haryana government will establish 500 hi-tech CM PACS centers in the state. These centers will act as a one-stop center for the farmers, where they will be provided fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, financial services and training. Apart from this, for the empowerment of farmers, the state government will provide interest free loan of up to Rs 1 crore to FPO (Farmer Producer Organization) and PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Society) for building warehouses for grain storage.

The Governor also informed that a compensation of Rs 133.75 crore has been given to 49,000 farmers affected due to natural disasters in Rabi season 2023-24. Apart from this, an amount of Rs 1 lakh 24 thousand crore on MSP has also been deposited in the accounts of 12 lakh farmers through the e-procurement portal.

The Governor said that the Haryana government is continuously making changes in policies to increase the income of farmers and make them self-reliant. He also said that the government will bring strict laws to end the problem of fake fertilizers, seeds and pesticides and will provide 100 percent compensation to the farmers.

Thus, Haryana Government is taking several steps towards overall development and welfare of farmers, which will empower them economically and make the agriculture sector more progressive.
