The government informed in its press release that this substantial financial investment made by the government for the IndiaAI mission will work on different components over the next five years, which include IndiaAI Compute Capacity, IndiaAI Innovation Center (IAIC), IndiaAI Dataset Platform, IndiaAI Important initiatives include Application Development Initiative, IndiaAI Future Skills, IndiaAI Startup Financing, and Safe and Secure AI.
This India AI Mission of the Government of India will also provide a framework for developing Graphic Processing Units (GPUs) under public-private partnerships as well as multi-modal, domain-specific large language models, which are essential for generative AI platforms. will be.
What did the Union Minister say?
“A multi-faceted framework has been created to strengthen the AI-based ecosystem in India,” Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said in a briefing after the Cabinet approval on Thursday. He further said, “Supercomputing capacity of more than 10,000 GPUs will be made available to the needy to create this AI ecosystem.” He said, “Under this mission, a National Data Manager Officer will be appointed who will coordinate with different government departments and ministries to improve the quality of data and include them in AI development.”
If we understand in simple language, the government said that this Rs 10,000 crore will also help those private companies which are working on AI based missions. With this step of the government, the trend of AI in the country will increase rapidly, new AI tools will be created in the country and many new start-ups for AI will also start.
