The wheat crop got scattered in the fields due to the strong wind. At the same time, after this disaster, the Relief Commissioner Department has issued an order to assess the crop, livestock and human loss in 75 districts of the state. Along with this, the department has asked to share the data within a week so that the work of giving compensation can be started.
According to TOI report, many videos are viral on social media in which hailstorm in Jhansi, Lucknow, Baghpat, Saharanpur, Jalaun shows huge damage to crops. In all this, wheat, peas, mustard, cotton, lentils and pigeon pea have also been damaged. A senior government official said that we are currently busy collecting preliminary reports of damage to crops. At present, there has been no news of loss of life due to rain and hailstorm. The official further said that we have asked all the districts to make a detailed report of the damage which we will share with the Relief Commissioner’s office.
More wastage occurred in these districts
According to a report, data sent by Banda, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar and districts like Hamirpur, Fatehpur, Jalaun from February 9 to 28 shows that mustard, wheat, lentils and other crops were damaged due to storm and hailstorm. . The government said that 45 percent of the crops have been destroyed in at least 13 villages in Pailani tehsil of Banda. There has been 33 percent crop loss in three villages of Baberu tehsil. In 10 villages of Bindki tehsil of Fatehpur, 33 percent of the crops have been damaged. In 51 villages of Hamirpur, 33 percent crops have been damaged due to strong storm and hailstorm.
Hailstorm occurred in Haryana also
In Haryana too, news of damage due to heavy rain and hailstorm is coming to the fore. During this period, a blanket of snow has spread from the roads to the fields. In all this, Rabi crop has suffered a lot of damage. Apart from this, mustard crop has also suffered a lot of damage. Many farmers of Haryana’s Charkhi Dadri, Hisar, Bhiwani, Jind and Fatehabad districts have complained of losses due to heavy rains and hailstorm.
