In Uttar Pradesh, council schools are opening from June 25 after summer vacations. However, children will come to school from June 28. On reaching school, they will be welcomed by applying roli-teeka. Also, schools will be decorated with rangoli, flags, balloons. Halwa-kheer will also be prepared in mid-day meal on this day.

Summer holidays in council schools in the state were ending on June 18. But, in view of the scorching heat, it has been extended by a week. Schools will open from June 25 and only teachers and staff will come to school. The Basic Education Department has instructed that after opening the school, arrangements for cleanliness of class rooms and library, water tank, kitchen, toilets etc. will be improved.

When the children come from 28th, a summer camp will be organized for the first two days i.e. 28-29 June. In this, activities to make children aware about the environment will be organized. Parents can also be invited for this. For two days the schools will run from 7:30 am to 10 am only. From 1 July the schools will run from 8 am to 2 pm and regular studies will be organized. Director General of School Education Kanchan Verma has directed that the preparations for DBT should be completed during this time. In the same sequence, the School Chalo Abhiyan should be run again from 28 June to 15 July.

Student attendance register and MDM register will be digital

The department has also said that with the opening of schools in the new session, the student attendance register and MDM register should also be used in digital form in all council, primary and upper primary schools. For this, a new module named Digital Register has been developed on the Prerna portal. Daily information will be uploaded on it. The Director General has also said that reducing dropouts should be discussed in the PTM. Parents should also be contacted and counselled.
