Govinda was so superstitious: In the 80’s and 90’s, Govinda gave so many superhit films that his stardom has remained till date. Anyone who is a fan of Govinda knows what kind of an artist he is. Govinda has no match in acting, dance, romance, comedy and action. Govinda is such an actor of Indian cinema who does dance and action with expressions. Govinda is a complete film package in himself but there was a time when he got drowned in superstition due to some reasons.
In the 90’s, Govinda became the number 1 Bollywood star by doing superhit films like ‘Coolie No. 1’, ‘Hero No. 1’, ‘Beti No. 1’. Gradually, his downfall came and due to this, he started moving towards superstition, about which a close friend of his told.
Why did Govinda become superstitious?
According to India Times, filmmaker and former censor board chief Pahlaj Nihalani is also a good friend of Govinda. Pahlaj Nihalani praised Govinda’s acting talent and responsibility towards his family. Also, those things played a big role in the actor’s career.
Pahlaj Nihalani further said, ‘He (Govinda) was doing films, giving time to his family but slowly he started getting superstitious. He used to say that the chandelier will fall on the set, everybody move away. Once he even started predicting that Kader Khan is going to drown.’
Pahlaj Nihalani further said, ‘He used to change the colour of people’s clothes due to his superstition. He used to refuse to do certain things on certain days. All these things, combined with his laziness and naivety, brought downfall in his life.’ Pahlaj Nihalani had also said that he and Govinda were never friends.
Pahlaj Nihalani said on this, ‘Our connection happened through films and it remained limited to that. We worked together a lot. He used to sign B grade and C grade films without thinking. No one knew where he was. He used to do 5-6 films together and was always late and would also lie.’
