Govinda’s mother Nirmala Devi: Bollywood actor Govinda has given many back to back films in the 90’s era. Govinda is one of the popular actors of the industry. Who was Govinda’s mother Nirmala Devi?

According to media reports, Govinda’s mother Nirmala Devi was born on 7 June 1927 in a Muslim family in Varanasi. Her name before marriage was Nazim but in the year 1941, she married film producer Arun Kumar Ojha, after which her name was changed to Nirmala Devi.

After marriage, Nirmala Devi had four children – Kamini, Kriti Kumar, Pushpa Anand and Govinda. It was after Govinda’s birth that Nirmala Devi took sanyaas and became a Sadhvi. Nirmala Devi died on 3 July 1998 at the age of 81 in Mumbai.

Govinda and his mother had a special relationship

Govinda’s film career

After getting a degree in commerce, Govinda expressed his desire to work in films to his father. When Govinda saw the film Disco Dancer in 1982, he developed a desire to work in films. Govinda made his debut in 1986 with the film Tan Badan but he got recognition from the film Love 86 which was released in the same year. After this, Govinda gave many superhit films like ‘Hatya’, ‘Swarg’, ‘Aag’, ‘Saajan Chale Sasural’, ‘Hero No. 1’, ‘Aadmi Khilona Hai’, ‘Andolan’, ‘Coolie No. 1’.
