Expansion
To increase the greenery of Agra city, the Forest Department will develop green belt on the National Highway (NH-2). Around 3500 saplings have already been planted in 1000 square meter area. Now about 7000 saplings will be planted in the remaining 2000 square meter area. Along with this, a sitting area is also being made here for the lovers of greenery to sit.
As against the 33 percent greenery required for humans, Agra city has only 6.5 percent greenery. To increase greenery in the city, large tree plantation is done every year in the state as well as the city. A record is being made by planting lakhs of saplings in a single day. Despite this, there has been no increase in greenery in the last two years.
On January 12 itself, 3500 saplings were planted on 1000 square meters of land on National Highway-2. Now the Forest Department is filling the remaining 2000 square meter land by adding soil. After leveling the land and treating the soil, Miyawaki Forest will be planted here in March.
