Growing tomato ladyfinger cucumber and bitter gourd in July gives good profits

Agriculture News: The month of June is going on. After the scorching heat, the rains have finally arrived. After a long wait, the monsoon has finally brought a season of benefits for the farmers. Due to the lack of rain in June, many farmers did not plant any crop in their fields, but now, when the rains have started, farmers can start preparing the fields and sowing crops.

Most agricultural experts recommend cultivating major Kharif season vegetables in the end of June and beginning of July. These vegetables are cucumber, kakdi, lobia, bitter gourd, bottle gourd, ridge gourd, ash gourd, ladyfinger, tomato, amaranth and radish, which help farmers to get better production in less time.

Cucumber

To get better production from cucumber farming, sunlight along with plenty of water is required. Farmers can earn good money by cultivating it, so sow only its improved varieties. The main varieties of cucumber are Swarn Aageti, Swarn Purnima, Pusa Uday, Pusa Sanyog, Pusa Barkha etc. If farmers want, they can earn good profit by growing its foreign hybrid varieties.

amaranth

Amaranth is a major cash crop of Kharif season, which can give good production if grown in both summer and rainy seasons. Amaranth is also a medicinal crop, whose root, stem, leaves and stalk are also used in making medicines. Therefore, only advanced and good yielding varieties of Amaranth should be sown. The major varieties include Choti Chaulai, Badi Chaulai, Annapurna, Suvarna, Kapilasa, RMA 4, Pusa Lal, Gujarati Amaranth 2.

ladyfinger

Although ladyfinger can be cultivated in any type of soil, but in the rainy season (Rain Based Farming), it gives good yield in water-drained soil, sandy and clay soil. If farmers want, they can also cultivate red ladyfinger according to the market demand. Its fruits should be plucked half-ripe. Amidst the rising prices of tomatoes in the market, tomato cultivation in polyhouse can prove to be a profitable deal. For this, indigenous tomato varieties include Pusa-120, Pusa Ruby, Pusa Gaurav, Arka Vikas, Pusa Sheetal, Arka Saurabh, Sonali and hybrid varieties include Rashmi and Avinash-2. During the rainy season, it is beneficial to cultivate it in loamy soil with good drainage. 500 grams of seeds are sufficient for cultivating bitter gourd on one acre of land, but less seeds are required if seedlings are planted after preparing a nursery. Among the major varieties of bitter gourd, Pusa Vishesh, Pusa Hybrid 1, Pusa Hybrid 2, Arka Harit, Punjab Karela 1 are called high yielding varieties.
