Guna Bus Fire: Twelve people died when a bus caught fire after colliding with a dumper truck in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district on Wednesday (27 December) night. 14 passengers were injured in this accident. The injured have been admitted to the district hospital and are out of danger.

According to the police officer, the incident took place around 9 pm on Guna-Aaron Road when a dumper truck coming from the opposite direction collided with a bus carrying passengers. After this the bus overturned and caught fire.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has expressed grief over the accident. He also announced compensation. The Chief Minister wrote on Twitter, “The news of the loss of passengers due to massive fire in the bus going from Guna to Aaron is extremely sad. My condolences to the families of those who died untimely in this heart-wrenching accident. In this dire situation of grief, the state government stands with the families of the victims.

The Chief Minister has directed the district administration to provide assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of those killed in the bus accident and Rs 50 thousand each to the seriously injured.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said, “Immediately after getting information about the incident, I spoke to the Collector and SP (Superintendent of Police) and directed them to start relief and rescue operations.”
