Gyanvapi Mosque Complex Supreme Court Hearing Wuzukhana ASI Survey Demand

Varanasi Gyanvapi Mosque: A hearing on the Gyanvapi Mosque complex dispute in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh is going to be held in the Supreme Court on Monday (5 February). An application has been filed in the country’s top court demanding a survey of the Vujukhana, which will be heard in the Supreme Court. Varanasi District Court has already given permission for worship in the basement of Gyanvapi complex. The Muslim side had objected to this.

In the application from the Hindu side, ASI has been requested to conduct a scientific survey in Vajukhana and the surrounding sealed area. The court is also going to hear the demand to get the 10 basements surveyed by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). The pillars present in Gyanvapi which ASI has mentioned in its report are old. Plaster has also been done on these pillars. A demand has also been made to conduct their survey, on which a hearing will be held.

Supreme Court will consider 3 aspects

At the same time, the Gyanvapi campus case has come up as item 35 before a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud on Monday. There will be 3 aspects to consider that day.

  • Whether the permission given by the Supreme Court to clean the water tank, which was polluted due to the death of fish, has been implemented or not.
  • Anjuman Arrangement Committee’s petition regarding Hindu side’s case not being hearable.
  • Demand to open the seal of the toilet and survey it also. Demand for scientific investigation of a structure like Shivalinga without harming it.

It is up to the court in what order it will hear the things. If the court wants to hear the demand for survey of the bathroom, then it can issue a notice to the arrangement committee and ask it to respond.

Line to see the basement

After the order of the District Court, puja is taking place in the basement, long queues are being formed to see it. Kashi Vishwanath Temple officials are making arrangements for darshan in collaboration with the local administration. Enthusiasm is being seen among the devotees to worship in the basement. Presently arrangements have been made for tableau darshan. Devotees can view the basement through a jharokha (window) near the barricades installed on the border of the complex.
