The results of the Gujarat assembly elections are out. This time the Bharatiya Janata Party has created a new record. In Gujarat, which has 182 assembly seats, 156 BJP candidates won the elections. The Congress suffered the most. The Congress came straight down to 17 from 77 seats. Means Congress had to bear the loss of 60 seats. The BJP candidate got 1,00,753 votes while Independent got 58,048 votes. This is Jaydrathsinhji Parmar’s fifth consecutive victory on the Halol seat.
Security deposit of six candidates forfeited
AAP came third in this election, its candidate Bharatkumar Rathwa got 21,788 votes, which was 10.96 percent of the total votes. Means, you could not save your bail here. Apart from this, the deposits of six other candidates including Congress and BSP were forfeited. Whereas, NOTA got 3,460 votes.
BJP got victory in 2017
The BJP had won the Halol assembly seat in the 2017 assembly elections. In this election, BJP had made Jaydrathsinhji Parmar its candidate from this seat. He defeated Uday Singh Baria of Congress by 57 thousand votes. A total of four candidates were in the fray here. Apart from these two, the deposits of the other two candidates were forfeited. Earlier in 2012, 2007 and 2002 also BJP’s Jaydrathsinhji Parmar had won.
In the total 14 elections held so far on this seat, the Congress has won here seven times. However, since 1998, he has been waiting for a win.
