March 28 is the last day of nomination in Bihar for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections. For the first phase, Bharatiya Janata Party candidates will file nomination in Aurangabad and Nawada. Hindustani Awami Morcha-Secular has to file nomination from Gaya and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) from Jamui. Today is Holi after the release of the list of candidates for all the seats of the two major parties of the National Democratic Alliance, BJP and Janata Dal United. Along with common people, leaders are also meeting each other on Holi. Amidst this reconciliation, for the last 48 hours, more than the declared candidates, three names are being discussed – 1. Sushil Kumar Modi, 2. Ashwini Kumar Choubey, 3. Syed Shahnawaz Hussain.
Sushil Modi- removed from Deputy CM, sidelined in Rajya Sabha
Sushil Kumar Modi dominated the Bharatiya Janata Party in Bihar for almost two decades. As opposition leader under Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi as Chief Minister, then as Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister with Nitish Kumar. Then in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, BJP came second in terms of MLAs, then despite the wishes and insistence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Sushil Modi was sidelined. He was not made Deputy CM. After waiting, he was sent to Rajya Sabha. Now he is also a former MP of Rajya Sabha. When the name did not come for Rajya Sabha, it was believed that a candidate could be made in the Lok Sabha elections from Bhagalpur or Patna. He has been the MP from Bhagalpur. But, after the announcement of Rajya Sabha-Legislative Council, Lok Sabha seats were also announced, Sushil Modi’s name did not appear. In such a situation, the same question is being raised everywhere that even before the return of NDA government in Bihar on January 28, there was talk of Sushil Modi’s activism, but BJP has sidelined him after thinking something. BJP leaders are not talking openly on this, but Sunil Kumar Sinha, President of Chanakya Institute of Political Rights and Research, says – “Caste has been managed by sending a woman leader from the Vaishya community to the Rajya Sabha, but by sidelining Sushil Modi. The wrong message has been sent. In politics, every message has advantages and disadvantages. Elections are also ahead, but it has to be seen what stand Sushil Modi himself takes.” But, the question is – has Sushil Kumar Modi joined the BJP’s guiding board?
Ashwini Choubey – From chair to Union Minister, now on sabbatical from politics
Ashwini Kumar Choubey, who reached the country’s politics from Buxar after doing state politics for a long time from Bhagalpur region, is a Union Minister. No matter who forms the government in the month of June 2024, he will not be a minister. BJP did not give him ticket from Buxar. There were five-six contenders for the ticket in Buxar, but shockingly Chaubey’s ticket was cut and given to Mithilesh Tiwari. Choubey was also said to be trying from Bhagalpur. Neither of their names appeared anywhere. It is being said that he has been assured of getting something else. In such a situation, the question arising is whether Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey has retired from active politics?
Shahnawaz Hussain- Time is not going to be ignored, what happened next is beyond understanding
Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, who was employed in the organization for a long time after being a Union Minister, was made the Industries Minister of Bihar in 2020. He was brought into the mainstream through the Legislative Council. There was a lot of discussion going on about the work, but suddenly when the Nitish Kumar government of Bihar changed to the Grand Alliance government, he too became the former like other BJP ministers. When the NDA government returned on January 28 this year, hopes were raised, but it was believed that Shahnawaz Hussain would get a chance in the Lok Sabha elections. If his name did not come for Rajya Sabha and his membership of Legislative Council was also allowed to lapse, then the chances of Lok Sabha increased. He was striving for Bhagalpur and Kishanganj. Even though BJP allowed both the seats to go to JDU, there was discussion that this time Hussain will get a chance under the formula of Sitamarhi MP Sunil Kumar Pintu. But, now every door is closed. In such a situation, there is discussion not only inside BJP but also outside that there has been a conspiracy with former Union Minister Shahnawaz Hussain. The question is also whether Mukhtar has been sidelined like Abbas Naqvi?
Sumo-Choubey away from contact, Hussain said – faith will not change, will win 40 seats

The mobile kept ringing, but was not received. Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey also remained away from contact. BJP’s national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain picked up the call, but claimed all 40 seats as his own and said, “There can be no change in the faith of those who have been in politics since their birth in BJP.
