Hardeep Nijjar Murder: Alleged video footage of the murder of designated terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in India has surfaced, in which Nijjar is shown being shot by armed men. Canada’s public broadcaster Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) termed this incident as ‘contract killing’.

Hardeep Singh Nijjar was designated a terrorist by the National Investigation Agency in the year 2020. On the evening of June 18, 2023, he was shot dead as he came out of a Gurudwara in Surrey, British Columbia. According to CBC News, the video was obtained on behalf of The Fifth Estate and has been independently verified by multiple sources. Six people and two vehicles are said to be involved in this incident.

There was sourness between India and Canada after the massacre
In this murder case, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had alleged that the Indian government had a hand in the murder. India denied Canada’s claim, but diplomatic tension continued between the two countries for many days.

In the video, Nijjar is shown leaving the Gurudwara parking lot in his car. As soon as he goes out some distance, a white sedan comes in front of him, due to which Nijjar’s car stops. According to CBC News report, two men run and shoot Nijjar before he can escape. Two witnesses, who were playing football in a nearby field at the time of the incident. He revealed that he ran towards the spot from where the gunshots were heard and also tried to chase the attackers.

What did the eyewitness say?

Eyewitness Bhupinderjit Singh Sidhu told The Fifth Estate, ‘We saw those two people running.’ ‘We started running towards where the sound was coming from.’ Sidhu asked his friend Malkit Singh to chase the two men walking on foot while he tried to help Nijjar. He said, ‘I tried to press Nijjar’s chest and tried to shake him to see if he was breathing or not, but he was completely unconscious.
