Two people riding a bike were hit from behind by a speeding car in Pihani Kotwali area on Lucknow-Delhi National Highway. The seriously injured bike riders were taken to Community Health Center Pisawan by ambulance. Here the doctor declared one dead, while the other was referred to a higher centre.

Aman Kumar (16), resident of Salempur Chaugwan of Pihani Kotwali area, used to run a grocery shop in the village itself. He was friends with village resident Shyama Kumar (30). On Saturday evening, Shyama Kumar had gone to Aman’s shop on his bike. Meanwhile, Aman told him that he had to go to Jahanikheda to buy a bag of sugar for the shop. On this, Shyama Kumar was taking him on his bike and going to Jahanikheda. A car coming from behind hit the bike near Dhampur village on the Lucknow-Delhi National Highway. Both were seriously injured due to the collision.

Jahanikheda outpost in-charge Vishwas Sharma, who reached the spot, sent both of them by ambulance to CHC Pasigwan. Pasigwan CHC falls in Lakhimpur district, but being closest to the incident site, the injured were sent there and their families were informed. Shyama Kumar was declared dead in the CHC, while Aman was referred to a higher centre. The family has taken him to Bareilly. There was chaos among the family members after getting information about the incident. Shyama Kumar used to do farming. He was the third among four siblings and was unmarried.
