Hartalika Teej 2024: Hartalika Teej fast is observed on the third day of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. In this fast, married women observe a waterless fast for unbroken good fortune and stay awake the whole night and worship Shiva-Parvati.

Significance of Hartalika Teej
On Hartalika Teej, there is a ritual of observing a fast called Hastgauri, which brings prosperity. One gets the blessings of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva and the husband gets long life, fame and prestige. Along with married women, unmarried girls also observe the fast of Hartalika Teej.
How to observe Hartalika Teej fast (Hartalika Teej Vrat Kaise kare)
On the day of Hartalika Teej, take a pledge of Nirjala Vrat from sunrise and then prepare for the Puja throughout the day, collect the Puja material. In the evening, dress up like a bride with 16 Shringar (adornments) and in the evening, make idols of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati from sand or clay and worship them. Offer Belpatra to Shiva and makeup material to Mother Parvati. Worship and perform Aarti of Lord Shiva in four prahars throughout the night and break the fast in the morning after taking Suhaag from Goddess Parvati.
