Haryana Congress in-charge Deepak Bavariya said that the party can decide on the Chief Minister after the assembly elections. A person who has not contested the elections can also be made CM. After the meeting of the Congress screening committee at Himachal Bhawan in Delhi, he told the media that this is the monopoly of the high command, anyone can take charge of the state.
With this, he has indicated that the party will contest elections in the state only on the party symbol. During this, top party leaders including former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda, Deepak Bavariya, State President Udaybhan, Kumari Selja, Randeep Singh Surjewala were present.
In fact, Kumari Selja and Randeep Singh Surjewala are staking their claim in the state. Leaders of their factions have also applied for tickets on a large scale, so after ticket distribution, a fight in the party is considered certain. For this, meetings of the screening committee are going on continuously.
Leaders who lose more than twice will not get tickets
According to sources, the party has agreed not to give tickets to leaders who have lost two or more times. Apart from this, no current or former MP will be able to contest the elections. This will be possible only under special circumstances with the permission of the party high command. The party has called a meeting of the Central Election Committee on September 2 regarding Haryana.
