Shimla. Many self-help groups have set up stalls in the ongoing winter carnival on the ridge grounds of Himachal Pradesh. Among these, the largest crowd of people was seen at the Kimb Chaat stall. This time too, like Saras Mela, people have liked Kimb Chaat very much. This stall has been set up by Shakti Self Help Group of Una. Let us tell you that Kimb Ki Chaat is available only during winter. Because, this chaat is made using a fruit which grows only in winter. This fruit is called Kimb in some areas and Galgal in some areas.
Very effective for health
Dharmendra Thakur, who belongs to district Una, told Local 18 that the fruit of Kimb is found in winter. People are very fond of eating Kimb Chaat. It is full of medicinal properties and is very effective for health. It is helpful in curing diseases that occur with changing weather, such as cold, cough and flu. At the same time, if any person’s blood is thick, then consuming Kimb Chaat can prove effective. Vitamin C is found in abundance in it. Apart from this, Kimb is endowed with many medicinal properties. To enhance the taste, green chillies, green coriander and mint chutney are added to it.
Earning of one lakh during winter carnival
Dharmendra Thakur told that he is setting up a stall at Ridge Ground for the third time and is getting good response from the people. Their earnings during the Winter Carnival are slightly less than during the Saras Fair. His earning during Saras Mela was up to Rs 2 lakh 20 thousand. But, due to the rent of the stall in the Winter Carnival, he has earned up to one lakh. We used to enjoy Kimb Ki Chaat since childhood and our elders also used to consume it during winters. It is considered best to consume Kimb in sunlight. Dharmendra Thakur told that he has promoted the traditional chaat of Una even outside Himachal Pradesh.
