Because of this, this mango is not sold according to kg, but according to pieces. The price of one mango has been kept at Rs 1,200.

Except Madhya Pradesh, Noorjahan mango is not found anywhere in the whole country. The producer of this mango, Rumal Baghel, says that I am saying with full confidence that apart from us, you will not find this mango anywhere else. We produce only 100 mangoes in a year. Every year 80 to 100 Noorjahan mangoes are produced. Demand comes from many big cities including Mumbai, Delhi to buy this mango. He says that he himself eats only those mangoes, some part of which gets spoiled and cannot be sold.
Rumal Baghel told that Noorjahan mango was produced in Afghanistan. During the year 1577 to 1645, when it was brought to India, this mango was named after Mallika Noorjahan, because she liked this mango very much. Later some plants of this mango were brought to Alirajpur in Madhya Pradesh. Since then Noorjahan mangoes have started growing here. Only three mango trees of Noorjahan variety are left in the whole country.
