Mansukh Mandaviya visits IGI: In many countries including China, Japan, there has been a rise in the cases of Corona. In such a situation, many measures are being taken in India to prevent corona. Meanwhile, on Monday (January 2), Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya visited Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) and reviewed the Covid-19 testing and screening facility. During this, he said that it is necessary to be cautious.
Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said that he inspected the Air Suvidha System and RT-PCR test facilities for passengers coming from abroad at IGI Airport in New Delhi. In view of the increasing cases of corona in the world, the government is conducting RT-PCR tests at airports, ports and wherever foreign nationals come from. Screening preparations have been made so that no new variant comes in the country. Genome sequencing is being done immediately on receiving the positive report.
What did the Union Health Minister say?
Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya further said that if any variant comes in the country, then the country will have to be alert for it. Every possible preparation is being done so that corona does not spread once again in the country. The Union Health Minister said that international travelers from high-risk countries will compulsorily upload their RT-PCR reports at the air facility before coming to India. We are randomly testing 2% of all international passengers arriving at all airports for COVID-19.
New order issued regarding international passengers
The Union Health Ministry has issued a new order regarding international passengers on Monday itself. It said that a negative report of Kovid is mandatory for passengers arriving at any airport in India from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand, regardless of the country from which they originally started the journey. As per the guidelines, the test should be done not earlier than 72 hours from the time of commencement of travel to India and the negative report of RT-PCR test has to be uploaded on the Air Suvidha portal before departure.
