Health Ministry Said Media Reports Claiming Multiple Side-effects Of COVID-19 Vaccines Are False And Ill-informed

Covid-19 Vaccine News: The Union Health Ministry has termed the media report claiming side effects of the corona vaccine as false. According to news agency PTI, the Health Ministry on Tuesday (January 17) said that the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) officials have claimed that there are ‘multiple side effects’ of Kovid-19 vaccines. The media report doing the same is wrong.

Citing an RTI, a recent media report claimed that ICMR and CDSCO officials have accepted the side effects of the COVID-19 vaccines and said that the corona vaccine has not one but many side effects. The ministry said on this, “It is clarified that this media report is misinformation and provides wrong information.”

ICMR gives answer on Kovid-19 vaccine

In line with the Union Health Ministry’s policy of proactive disclosure with global scientific evidence in the public domain, ICMR provides answers to questions under the RTI Act related to the advantages and disadvantages of COVID-19 vaccines. In response, the ministry said in a statement that the ICMR has provided links to the websites of the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Ministry of Health, where global evidence compiled on various Kovid-19 vaccines is available.

The ministry said that as is the case with all other vaccines, so is the case with Kovid-19 vaccines. After which the person may experience mild symptoms such as pain, headache, fatigue, muscle pain, pyrexia, chills, joint pain etc. There are very few people who have faced serious condition after getting the vaccine.

Corona vaccine effective in preventing disease

Global research studies have shown that COVID-19 vaccination has helped reduce the severity of the disease by preventing hospitalizations and deaths due to COVID-19. In India, NTAGI (National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization) has periodically reviewed the benefits and side effects of the Covid vaccines used in the country and has supported the above findings.

Vaccine information available on CDSCO site

Apart from this, CDSCO said in response to RTI that the list of Kovid-19 vaccines approved by the National Drug Controller General is available on the website cdsco.gov.in. CDSCO also stated that it does not have any other information on the subject. The statement said that ICMR has not commented on any of the documents that have been shared as part of the RTI reply.
