A US study has found that E. coli, which occurs in contaminated or undercooked meat stored in refrigerators, can cause urinary tract infections. In a study published in the journal One Health, researchers found that bacteria and other microbes stored in refrigerators can cause UTIs.
The study found that bacteria found in refrigerators such as E. coli and Klebsiella may be mainly responsible for protein-related UTIs. However, the relationship between refrigerators and UTIs is not properly explained, so further study is needed.
