Research conducted so far has shown that bioactive elements like caffeine in tea and coffee have anti-inflammatory antioxidant properties, which help in reducing the risk of cancer. A recent research has shown that drinking coffee in limited quantity can lead a healthy life. Yuan-Chin Amy Lee, senior author of this study, who works at the School of Medicine of the University of Utah, America, said that research has been done before on drinking tea and coffee and reducing the risk of cancer, but this study. What has been found in research

In this study, researchers analyzed data from 14 studies involving 9,550 patients with head and neck cancer and 15,800 patients without cancer. Those who drank more than four cups of caffeinated coffee daily were found to have a 17% lower risk of head and neck cancer compared to non-coffee drinkers.

Along with this, the risk of mouth cancer has also been reduced by 30% and the risk of throat cancer has been reduced by 22%. Apart from this, drinking three to four cups of caffeinated coffee also reduces the risk of hypopharyngeal cancer by 41%. On the other hand, drinking decaffeinated coffee reduces the risk of ‘oral cavity cancer’ by 25%.

According to the study, drinking a cup of tea reduces the risk of head and neck cancer by 9% and the risk of hypopharynx by 27%. However, drinking more than one cup of tea a day increases the risk of larynx cancer by 38%.
