Fatty Liver in India : Fatty liver is a very dangerous disease. Many dangerous diseases can occur due to this. This disease is spreading rapidly in India. Every third Indian has fatty liver disease. Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh said this in a recent conference.

Experts say that non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is a common metabolic liver disorder, which can later progress to cirrhosis and primary liver cancer. In most people, fatty liver problems are seen before diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and many other diseases.

What is fatty liver
The liver controls proteins, lipids and bilirubin in the body. Consuming more fat and calories in food and less physical activities leads to accumulation of fat in the liver, which is called fatty liver. This problem is more common in alcohol drinkers but this liver problem has been seen in people with higher weight and BMI who do not drink alcohol.

Causes of fatty liver
Dr. Jitendra Singh said that there has been a lot of change in the lifestyle and diet of India and Europe, due to which metabolic syndromes like diabetes and obesity are increasing. Because of this, the cases of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease are also increasing.

Those who are underweight are at greater risk
Dr. Jitendra said that both non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and alcoholic liver disease show similar effects ranging from steatosis to steatohepatitis cirrhosis and HCC.

He said that in the Indian subcontinent, this disease is found in about 20% of the people whose weight is very less as compared to their body, whereas in western countries, most of the cases of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease are related to obesity. Let us tell you that recently a virtual node has been started in the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences in the country’s capital New Delhi for the prevention and control of metabolic liver diseases. In which 11 doctors from France and 17 doctors from India will work together.

Ways to avoid fatty liver
Reduce fat and carbohydrates in your diet.
Increase physical activity.
Talk to a doctor to reduce liver fat.
