According to the data published in the report of The Lancet Commission, in the year 2019, about 90 lakh people in the world died due to pollution. In India alone, 24 lakh people lost their lives due to pollution in just one year. These deaths have occurred due to different types of pollution. How many types of pollution are there?
1. Air Pollution
Air pollution affects the environment as well as health. It spreads through smoke emanating from vehicles, factories, fuel, garbage and burning of firecrackers. This can cause serious problems related to breathing and heart. Apart from this, cancer and eye-skin related diseases can also occur.
2. Water Pollution
Water pollution is also a serious problem which affects our environment and health. This happens due to waste from factories, domestic waste, chemicals used in agriculture, pollution in rivers and oil-petroleum products leakage. Due to this, the creatures living in water are in greatest danger.
3. Noise Pollution
Sound pollution has a deep impact on life. It spreads due to horns, noise of factories, DJ-loudspeakers and loud noise of flights. Due to this, the ability to hear may be lost.
4. Soil Pollution
Soil pollution is also dangerous. Due to this the fertility of the soil may reduce. Water and air pollution can spread, biodiversity can be damaged and diseases like cancer and diabetes can occur.
5. Radiation Pollution
Radiation pollution comes from radiation emitted from nuclear power plants, use of medical equipment, use of mobile phones and other electronic gadgets, use of radiation products, mining and construction. This can cause cancer and other serious diseases. Genetic mutations and birth defects, immune system weakness and neurological problems may occur.
