‘Clubbed fingers’ means the way the ends of the fingers appear. If the fingers are joined together or their ends are raised or hot or their color has become discolored or the nails have turned downwards then one should be cautious. Because these changes can indicate serious diseases of the lungs or heart. Therefore it should not be ignored.

What signals do fingers give when?
Dr. Ahmed says that due to many heart conditions the fingers appear joined together. There may be some serious reasons for this also. These may include lung cancer, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis or lung abscess. Therefore one should be careful. As soon as such signs are seen, one should immediately go to a good doctor and get checked.
How to test for joined fingers?
Dr. Ahmed says that bring both your index fingers together in such a way that both the nails are touching. It is just like you are making a heart sign with your fingers.
