Heatwave Advisory: There is chaos in the entire country due to heatwave. The reason for this is that there is extreme heat in the states of North India like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar. Not only this, but it is becoming difficult for people to go out since morning. People are having to deal with heatwave along with heat. The problem has increased so much due to heatwave that now the governments of different states have also issued advisories or say instructions.

A three-hour holiday has been announced for laborers and workers in Delhi. Their salary will also not be deducted during this period. People have been asked to keep water in pots at the bus stand. Similarly, people in Jammu and Kashmir have been instructed not to leave their homes in the afternoon. Apart from this, it has been said that the transportation of goods through horse, donkey, camel will also be closed for three hours during the day. How is the heatwave being tackled in Delhi?

  • In view of the intense heat, Delhi’s Deputy Governor VK Saxena has ordered a paid holiday for laborers and workers between 12-3 pm.
  • DDA has been working on the ‘Summer Heat Action Plan’ since May 20. DJB, PWD, MCD under the AAP government are not doing this till now.
  • In view of the severe heat in the capital, the Lieutenant Governor has issued instructions to the Chief Secretary to hold an immediate meeting.
  • The Lieutenant Governor directed to provide adequate quantity of water and coconut water to the workers at the construction site.
  • Instructions have also been given to keep water in pots at bus stands.

The administration has issued these instructions to avoid the heat in Jammu and Kashmir

  • Like the rest of the country, Jammu and Kashmir is also experiencing severe heat. In view of this, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has also become alert.
  • In view of the scorching heat and the ongoing heatwave, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has imposed a ban on the transport of goods by animals.
  • The ban on carrying goods through buffalo, ox, pony, mule, donkey and camel will be in effect from 12 noon to 3 pm. This order will remain in force for the next two months.
  • This decision has been taken by the administration under Section 6 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1965.
  • In many districts of Jammu and Kashmir, the temperature has crossed 40 degrees, after which people have been advised to drink as much water as possible before the heatwave.
  • Elderly people, children and infants have been advised to stay away from direct sunlight between 12 noon and 3 pm.

Alert regarding heatwave in Rajasthan, government issued advisory

  • Rajasthan’s Disaster Relief Minister Kirori Lal Meena has appealed to the people not to go out in the sun for unnecessary work.
  • In the advisory issued by the Disaster Department, it has been said that the availability of necessary medicines for the treatment of heat stroke should be ensured.
  • Six people have died in Rajasthan due to heatwave and heatstroke. People have been told not to go out in the sun and keep drinking water.
  • In the advisory, people going out have been asked to go out only after eating fresh food and drinking sufficient amount of cold water.
  • According to the advisory, people have been advised to use an umbrella when going out in strong sunlight and to cover their head and body with a cloth.
  • If someone gets fever then use a wet cloth on the head of the victim to reduce the body temperature. Give him ORS to drink.
