Amidst the scorching heat in Shahjahanpur, the weather took a turn on Thursday evening. There was a strong storm at around 6 pm. With this, it started raining. It rained with the storm for about 20 minutes. Hail also fell on Nigohi Road. People got some relief from the heat due to the rain. But due to the strong storm, trees fell in many areas. Due to this, traffic was disrupted. Power went out in many areas.
Earlier, there was no relief in the scorching heat during the day and neither relief in the night. The minimum temperature was 29.2 degrees Celsius, the highest in nine years. The maximum temperature was 43.6 degrees Celsius, the highest in four years. Due to strong storm and rain in the evening, trees were uprooted at many places. However, there was some relief from the heat.
Dr. Manmohan Singh, Meteorologist of Sugarcane Research Institute, said that in the year 2015, the minimum temperature was recorded at 29.2 degree Celsius on 26 May. The minimum temperature on Thursday was also 29.2 degree Celsius. In the year 2020, the maximum temperature was recorded at 44 degree Celsius on 26 May. After four years, the maximum temperature was recorded at 43.6 degree Celsius on Thursday in May. This is the highest of the season.
In the evening, it rained due to wind blowing at a speed of 45 to 50 km per hour. Five millimetres of rain was recorded. Hail also fell on Nigohi Road in the city. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature was 42.6 degrees and the minimum temperature was 25 degrees Celsius. According to the weather department forecast, there is a possibility of a slight decrease in the minimum temperature and an increase in the maximum temperature.
