Hemant Soren Resign: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday (January 31) arrested Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in a money laundering case related to the alleged land scam. During this period, security has been increased around CM Soren’s residence. Before this, ED interrogated him for several hours.

Section 144 has been imposed in the area around the CM residence. Earlier, ED had also interrogated Hemant Soren on January 20. During that time the agency had interrogated the Chief Minister for about 8 hours. After this, ED sent 10 summons one after the other to Hemant Soren to appear before him, but he did not appear before the agency.

‘Left beating retreat program’
However, while issuing the tenth summons to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the ED had said that either the CM should fix the time for questioning from January 29 to 30 or the team itself will fix the time. After this, on Saturday (January 27), Hemant Soren left for Delhi from Ranchi. The news was in the headlines because he left the beating retreat program at Raj Bhavan midway and left for Delhi.

According to sources, Hemant Soren slept in his Delhi house on the night of 27 January. According to reports, on January 28, Soren sought legal advice. Hemant Soren took legal advice from Abhishek Manu Singhvi on 28 January. Meanwhile, the DSP present with him had returned to Ranchi.

After this Hemant Soren suddenly disappeared. He remained missing for 31 hours and reached Ranchi on the afternoon of 29 January. The same day the Enforcement Directorate team reached his Delhi residence. During this time, strict security arrangements were also made outside his residence.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren was not present in his Delhi residence during the ED raid. The team also seized Hemant Soren’s car. CM Soren reached his residence in Ranchi on Tuesday (January 30) in the afternoon. He held a meeting with his MLAs.

Resigned from the post of Chief Minister
After this, on Wednesday (January 31), the Chief Minister of Jharkhand lodged an FIR against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials at the SC-ST police station in Ranchi. After this, ED reached his residence for questioning at around 1.30 pm. The agency interrogated him for about 8 hours. After questioning, Hemant Soren reached Raj Bhavan and resigned from the post of Chief Minister. After this he was arrested.
