Here gym lovers are relishing the taste of ‘feeni’ with milk, not ‘jalebi’, know what is its specialty


Ravi Paik/Bhilwara. People are unable to stop themselves from eating Doodh Jalebi during the winter season. But for the people living in Bhilwara city, not Doodh Jalebi but Doodh Phini remains the first choice. A family from the city has been providing the taste of saffron milk and feini here for the last 40 years. The biggest specialty is that this is the only family which is feeding milk-fed people only in winter.

Himanshu Sharma, who has a shop in market number 2 of Bhilwara city, says that our family has been making Doodh Phini here for 40 years. This is our third generation which is working on this. Here we use desi cow’s milk for saffron milk which is nutritious. Along with this, we especially use pale and sweet powder which enhances the taste of this milk.

Himanshu Sharma says that we serve saffron milk in earthen bowls (kulhads) which enhances the taste. This milk is heated in an iron pan which increases the amount of iron in the milk. We set up this shop only at night during winter and 60 to 70 liters of milk is produced every day.

First choice of gym people
Himanshu told that protein is very important for people who go to the gym to build their body. In such a situation, our Phini is made in pure desi ghee which helps in maintaining the diet of the people and provides nutritious elements from cow’s milk. In such a situation, this saffron milk and feni has become the first choice of the people who go to the gym here at night.
