There was high alert in Kanha city on Friday regarding the Gyanvapi episode in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. Friday prayers took place under the shadow of police. Police patrolled sensitive areas. Many worshipers who reached Shahi Idgah Mosque without Aadhaar card were turned away by the police.

The arrangements committee of Gyanvapi Masjid had appealed to the people of Muslim community across the country to keep shops and businesses closed. This appeal remained ineffective in Mathura. At the same time, people were asked to offer prayers from Friday prayers till Asr prayers in the evening, but after offering Friday prayers, people went to their homes. There was no discussion with Jama Masjid.

SSP Shailesh Kumar Pandey, SP City Dr. Arvind Kumar, ASP IPS Kunwar Akash Singh, City Kotwali Inspector Ravi Tyagi visited Jama Masjid and sensitive areas of the city. Here, the Govind Nagar Police team remained deployed at the Shahi Idgah Mosque adjacent to Shri Krishna’s birthplace. Many worshipers who reached Shahi Idgah Mosque without Aadhaar card were turned away by the police. No outsider was allowed to enter.

Namaz concluded peacefully

SP City Dr. Arvind Kumar along with his team remained standing with the police personnel at Shahi Masjid Idgah till the prayers were completed and the worshipers went to their homes. SSP Shailesh Kumar Pandey said that the namaz was conducted peacefully. There was no protest or reaction of any kind anywhere. Police force conducted flag march in sensitive areas.
