Allahabad High Court has cancelled the revised answer key issued by the Secondary Education Service Selection Board for the recruitment of Lecturer English-2013. The court ordered that the answer sheets be re-evaluated. If the petitioner comes in the merit list, he should be appointed.

Candidates who do not make the grade after re-evaluation will not be removed from service. The court said that the UP Secondary Education Department and the UP Secondary Education Service Selection Board should take necessary action within three months. Justice Subhash Vidyarthi gave this order on the petition of Ajay Kumar Shukla.
Petitioner Ajay Kumar Shukla had applied for the Secondary Education Selection Service Board’s English Lecturer-2013 recruitment. The petitioner had appeared in the written examination held on 22 February 2015. After the examination, some objections were lodged against the answer key released by the board. After this, the selection board published a revised answer key on 20 May 2015.
After the matter reached the High Court, the selection board published the second revised answer key on 20 April 2016. The revised answer key had a serious adverse effect on the petitioner. In protest against this, he filed a petition in the High Court and pleaded. It was argued on behalf of the petitioner that the selection board has mechanically published the revised answer key wrongly over the objections of some candidates.
The answers to questions number 36, 59, 81 and 107 given in the provisional answer key were correct. The selection board has wrongly changed them while revising the answer key. The correct answers to questions number 1, 23, 28, 30, 36, 46, 48, 67 and 117 were in the question paper, yet they were marked as F and full marks were given to all the candidates for these questions.
Allowing the petition, the Court quashed the revised answer key published pursuant to the notification dated January 04, 2013 for making selection for appointments to the posts of Lecturer (English).
