The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court has ordered an inquiry and action against Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University for not giving affiliation to colleges for B.Sc. Nursing. At the same time, Principal Secretary of Medical Education Parth Sarathi Sen Sharma, who appeared on August 6, assured that the government will take action in the matter soon. So that in future no university violates the legal provisions like Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University did.
A single bench of Justice Alok Mathur gave this order on the petition of Rakesh Bahadur Singh, Chairman of PIST Nursing College Banveer Kutch. In this, the issue of allocating colleges to students without giving affiliation to colleges for B.Sc. Nursing was raised. The court found in this case that in the session 2020-21 and subsequent years, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University failed to give affiliation to the colleges running this course. However, it continued to allocate colleges to students for B.Sc. Nursing course. Whereas under the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University Act 2018, it has the power to give affiliation to colleges.
It was said on behalf of the petitioner that the university has not yet set any condition for granting affiliation. On the other hand, the government lawyer said that action is going on in the case after the court’s order. It was also assured that now the students will be allotted colleges only after giving affiliation. On this, the court ordered the state government to investigate and take action against the university in view of the fact that temporary affiliation has been given to the petitioner college and other colleges will also be given affiliation in three weeks, and disposed of the petition.
