There are Lok Sabha elections in Himachal Pradesh in the seventh and last phase. As the elections are coming closer, the sequence of attacks and counter-attacks also seems to be intensifying. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu reached Dalhousie to appeal for votes for Kangra-Chamba parliamentary constituency candidate Anand Sharma.
He said that Anand Sharma has contributed a lot in the development of Kangra-Chamba. While being a minister at the Centre, he has brought big institutions in the entire Himachal Pradesh, hence elect him and send him to Parliament. He will become the voice of Himachal and will write a new story of development along with closing the Agniveer scheme. Along with this, he fiercely targeted the opposition party Bharatiya Janata Party. He alleged that the entire Bharatiya Janata Party continued doing politics during the disaster.
BJP accused of not helping in disaster
CM Sukhu alleged that the Prime Minister and the Home Minister as well as the BJP MPs did not stand with the disaster affected people. Not a single rupee was given to Himachal in the name of relief, even though 551 people had died and 22 thousand families were rendered homeless. A special relief package was sought after meeting the Prime Minister, Home Minister and central leaders, but no one was satisfied. Himachal’s BJP MLAs opposed the proposal to declare a national disaster in the Assembly.
Faces of masked people will be exposed – CM Sukhu
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that BJP did not give money to Himachal Pradesh during the disaster, but spent crores of rupees to buy six Congress and three independent MLAs. Himachal should have also received a special relief package on the lines of Bhuj and Uttarakhand. Police investigation has brought to the government many facts about how many crores of rupees BJP has given to the nine MLAs. Soon the faces of many masked people will be exposed.
‘BJP considers money power as power’
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that BJP considers money power as power, not manpower. This is the reason why people tried to topple the elected government on the basis of money. The public knows that the goods sold will not last long. Therefore manpower will defeat money power. Congress does not have money, it is people’s power and we are fighting this election with the help of manpower only.
