People all over India are troubled by the cold. At the same time, due to short days, people are unable to complete their work and no one even realizes when time passes. In fact, in India, during winter, the days become shorter and the nights become longer, while in the summer, the days become longer and the nights become shorter. But do you know why this happens?
Why do days become shorter in winter?
In winter, the distance of the Earth from the Sun is less but it is inclined in the other direction from the Sun, due to which the cold season comes on the Earth and the days are also shorter. Actually, at this time the Earth is inclined towards the Northern Hemisphere due to which the Sun comes up for a shorter time and due to this the heat on the Earth is also reduced.
If we understand this in simple language, the reason for the day becoming shorter and longer is the tilt of the Earth. The Earth is inclined at 23.5 degrees on its axis. In winter, the Earth is closer to the Sun than in the summer, but the Earth’s inclination is not towards the Sun but in its opposite direction. For this reason, the Sun is not visible to us very high in the sky and hence it remains above the horizon for less time, due to which the daylight is less, it gets dark early and in winter, the days become shorter and the nights longer.
Why do you feel sleepy during the day even after a long night?
This question might also be arising in your mind that even though the nights are long in winter, why do you not get enough sleep and why do you feel lazy in getting up in the morning? So let us tell you that in winter, sunlight falls on the earth for a very short time. Which also affects our body, because our body needs sunlight, hence if we do not get it, we feel lazy and sleep all the time.
