Holi Special Train Indian Railways 1098 New Trains On These Routes IRCTC Birth Availability


Indian Railways Holi Special Trains: Holi, the festival of colors, is near. In such a situation, Indian Railways has made special arrangements for those celebrating Holi with their loved ones. Indian Railways said on Friday (22 March) that keeping in mind the festive season and the increasing number of passengers, 1098 special trains will be run.

Last year, Indian Railways had run 720 special trains on Holi, whereas this year it has increased the number of trains by 52 percent. To cater to the needs of passengers traveling during the festive season, additional 11 unreserved trains are being planned from major cities like Mumbai, Surat, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Patna.

Meanwhile, an average of 1400 regular trains are being run every day to handle the crowd in different parts of the country mainly UP, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and others.

At the same time, additional security will also be deployed at different places to control the crowd and keep surveillance round the clock. This year the festival of colors is on 25 March (Monday). A huge crowd is expected during this period. Generally the movement of public starts 4 days before Holi and continues till 4-5 days after the festival. Indian Railways is planning Holi special trains from different parts of the country to reduce the expected rush every year.

Berths are still vacant in these trains

There are still vacant berths in 33 trains running for Bihar on Holi. Many of these trains are going to open from Patna Junction and Danapur. Apart from this, there are vacant berths in trains originating from Rajgir, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Arrah, Samastipur, Saharsa, Barauni and Sitamarhi. Also including Patna-Vishakhapatnam, Danapur-Kota, Danapur-Ahmedabad, Patna-Anand Vihar, Gaya-Anand Vihar, Ara-Anand Vihar, Raxaul-Howrah, Danapur-Pune, Jaynagar-Tinsukia, Danapur-Lokmanya Tilak, Danapur-Jabalpur. Berths are still vacant in many trains.
