The pace of development in Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha is very slow. Development has been a big issue for the voters here. The victory or defeat of a candidate is decided only on the basis of development.

Now some progress is visible in all the assemblies. There are 9 assembly seats in this Lok Sabha, while there are about 16 lakh voters in Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha seat. The voting pattern on this seat has been based on development but the game of caste card also runs rampant here. Akali Dal, BJP, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party give importance only to those candidates who fit the caste spectrum.
