Akhand Jyoti caught fire late night in a room on the first floor of a building in Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar area. Elderly woman Saroj Mishra (72) died of suffocation in the accident. As soon as the fire broke out, the woman’s husband came out of the stairs. While the woman had gone to the bathroom to save herself.

At around 3 o’clock on Thursday night, the police and fire department received information about a fire in the building located at street number 11 of Raghuvarpura. The fire broke out on the first floor of the three-storey building. There is a shop on the ground floor of the building. 10 fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. Saroj Mishra lived with his wife Krishna Mishra (76) in the first floor flat.

Krishna told that he was sleeping in the room on Thursday night. Saw fire near Akhand Jyoti at around 2:40 pm. He immediately ran towards the stairs while his wife went towards the bathroom. He came down, but his wife got trapped in the bathroom due to fire. Firemen immediately started extinguishing the fire. After controlling the fire within a short time, firefighters launched a search operation.

During this time, Saroj was lying unconscious in the bathroom. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The police officer said that the woman died due to suffocation. There is no suspicion of any kind of irregularity in this. The police is investigating the case
