When India became independent in 1947, Pakistan was separated from India and became a new country. During this period there were some princely states which were independent. One of them was Jammu and Kashmir. On 22 October 1947, Pakistani army attacked Jammu and Kashmir. After this, the then Maharaja Hari Singh allowed the Indian Army to enter Jammu and Kashmir and also agreed to merge Jammu and Kashmir with India.

But by the time the Indian services took action, the Pakistanis had captured some parts of Kashmir. Which is called PoK today. So in the year 1963, under an agreement, Pakistan gave some part of Kashmir to China, which today we call Aksai Chin. Let us know how far away Aksai Chin is from India.

If we talk about the distance of Aksai Chin from India, it is situated at a distance of 1604 kilometers. It is located beneath the Kunlun Mountains in the northwest of the Tibetan Plateau. Under an agreement in 1963, Pakistan handed over part of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir to China. Whose total area is spread over 5180 square kilometers. India has not given recognition

Even though Pakistan has given some part of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) to China i.e. Aksai which is the area of China, India still considers this agreement as illegal. India has clearly told China many times that the 38,000 square kilometer area of Aksai Chin is not its own but has been occupied by China. Both India and China have not been able to find a solution to this dispute till now.
