CPI(M) had fielded 52 candidates in the election, out of which 30 candidates lost their deposits. On the other hand, NPP is third, out of whose three candidates one of them lost his deposits. On the other hand, TMC had given tickets to 48 candidates, out of which five candidates lost their deposits. Apart from this, out of 328 Congress candidates, 26 candidates lost their deposits. On the other hand, out of 441 BJP candidates, 27 candidates lost their deposits.

How much is the bail amount?

Now the question is how much is the security deposit. Be it Lok Sabha election or assembly election, every candidate has to deposit a certain amount with the Election Commission as security deposit. In this situation, the Election Commission does not return the deposit amount. If a candidate gets more than 16.67% votes, then his deposit amount is returned. On the other hand, if a candidate withdraws his nomination or his nomination is cancelled due to any reason, then the deposit amount is returned during that time also. Apart from this, the deposit amount of the winning candidate is also returned.
